Silencerco Osprey 9

Several years ago, Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) introduced an eccentric silencer called the Black Box. It really turned the industry on its side and inspired a lot of designers to push the envelope and think outside of the box. Other corporate buzzwords may have been used, but you get the picture. The Black Box was the FIRE, and even made a guest appearance on the Fox show 'Fringe.' It blew people's minds-- quite literally on that episode. However, it was not viable for the civilian market-- too expensive to manufacturer. Like many AAC innovations, it was ahead of its time, but also a bellwether to the silencer industry.

Now, a new suppressor called the Osprey is bringing that eccentric AAC design to mass market. It's made by an aptly-named company: Silencerco. Performance is supposedly whisper-quiet and build quality is exceptional. Of course, we'll be doing a detailed review with video as soon as the client and I take this out to the range for testing. In the mean time, please enjoy these stunning pictures. I think you'll agree, the Osprey 9 looks like it was made especially for the Heckler & Koch USP line.
