Cimarron 1911 .45acp for Sale

A lot of attention is paid to top tier custom shop 1911 manufacturers such as Les Baer (my favorite), Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, STI, and Nighthawk Custom. However, you don't have to break the bank to own one of John Moses Browning's legendary designs. In this week's newsletter, we're going to feature several of the entry-level 1911s on the market. The 1911 is truly the quintessential American firearm, and every shooter should have one in their collection. In February, we will celebrate the 100 year anniversary of JMB's design-- arguably the greatest handgun of all time and an American original we can all be proud of.

Last week, we took delivery of a new Cimarron 1911. That's right, the famous maker of "cowboy action" western single-action revolvers and lever action long guns has jumped into the 1911 market-- albeit as an importer. The Cimarron 1911 is a great looking pistol and as you can see, the finish and markings are attractive and appropriate for a WWII reproduction model. The fit and action are well done. This is a very competitive segment of the market. [click here for the Cimarron 1911 photo gallery]

At this $500 price point, there are a lot of options available to clients. Another newcomer is from our friends in Israel at Magnum Research: the Desert Eagle 1911. One of the perennial favorites continues to be the excellent Rock Island Armory 1911, imported and distributed by Armscor. These are high quality and accurate 1911s made in the Philippines and are great platforms to build on. If you recall, we sent a newsletter featuring a 3/75 Ranger special edition 1911 that one of my buddies ordered last year. That also was a Rock Island 1911. Another Filipino manufacturer gaining traction is Iver Johnson. IJ 1911s offer shooters a lot of modern features such as upgraded hammers and triggers-- and fancy slide serrations. And let's not forget the new Remington 1911 that has been drawing a lot of interest from the gun magazines. These are going to be hard to keep on the shelves! This certainly won't be the last newsletter we send on the model 1911. After all, 2011 is going to be the year of the 1911.

Have a good week and God bless! -- Evan
