Review: Barrett MRAD for Sale

barrett mrad review for sale

The Barrett MRAD is one of the most impressive weapon systems I've ever had the privilege of shooting. It has an uncanny way of taming the mighty .338 Lapua and striking targets thousands of meters away with tremendous kinetic energy. The trigger is magnificent, it's laser beam accurate and so comfortable to shoot, you'll forget you're sending 250-grain Lapua Magnum rounds down range. In the future, conversion kits will allow shooters to swap barrels and shoot 308win and 300 Winchester Magnum. I'd be content to shoot 338Lapua all day long with the MRAD-- if my wallet could afford it. Barrett really hit the nail on the head with the MRAD. They've thought of everything right down to the folding stock locking securely in place, protecting the bolt handle. The design is pure brilliance and worth every penny of its $6000 price tag. Budget another $3500 for quality glass like this Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 Police Marksman II.

The 98B is another marvel of Barrett's engineering capabilities. Unlike the MRAD, the barrel is fluted. The buttstock doesn't fold and there won't be a forthcoming caliber conversion kit, but you still get a superb trigger and staggering accuracy-- AND a lower price point: just $4848.98. On this 98B, we mated a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 and LaRue Tactical mount.

You simply can't go wrong with a Barrett. Period. And on that bombshell, good night!

Have a good one and God bless. -- Evan
